The new issue of Upset is out this week, and it’s packed. You’d expect that, right?
This month, Hey Violet take the cover. Throwing all that nonsense about what a rock band is aside (it’s a boring argument anyway) in the name of cold as ice bangers, they’re a band confident in who they are, doing things on their own terms. “People are going to dislike it whatever you do,” they tell us. “Audiences can tell when you’re BS-ing.”
Elsewhere we’re continuing to ruffle feathers with the returning Rise Against, as well as features with Rozwell Kids and Ratboys. There’s the inside track on PVRIS‘ London comeback shows, as well as more from Stone Sour, Don Broco, Nothing But Thieves, Kamikaze Girls, Sløtface, The One Hundred, Arcane Roots, Color Film and loads of others.
Yonaka lead the way in About To Break, where we’re also introducing Zeal & Ardor. Awsten from Waterparks takes us through his tour essentials in Case Study, and there’s a 2000trees Rock DJ special to divide opinion.
Add to that the official verdict on the latest albums – including our take on if Paramore‘s ‘After Laughter’ really is one of the albums of the year so far (spoiler, yes, obviously), plus everything that went down at Slam Dunk – including chats with Enter Shikari, The Movielife and Against Me! – and you’ve more than enough to be getting on with for another month.
You can grab the new issue of Upset from Friday, 16th June, at venues and record stores around the UK. Alternatively, you can order a copy direct to your door below, or subscribe here.
